                                                     The workout short film

This is my final finished unit 9 project called the workout, the film was only 4 minutes 32 seconds long
making it a short film. I edited the film in black and white and made it fast paced so it had that Charlie Chaplin slapstick vibe. The film is about a boy called Tristan who enters his messy room and decides he wants to do home workout exercises so he begins tidying his room but realizes the workout isn't the only challenge he has to overcome. I also edited sound effects when I slip or bang my head. I used many different types of shots such as wide shots, close ups and medium shots. I used to songs, one is called the gonk and the other one is called gonna fly now. I filmed the project at my house in my bedroom. The camera and tripod were fine, I set them up with no issues, did struggle a tiny bit to put the camera on the tripod but figured it out.

From my research I was able to get many ideas of shots and editing techniques that I used in my final product which turned out really well. I was also able to get ideas for my script and target audience, I mainly looked into the different types of shots and movements of the actors. I looked at there stunts and compared them to mine. This film can be aimed at anyone from the ages of  12-70 years old for the younger generation they would find the rocky balboa reference funny and for the older viewers it would be more of a reminiscence with the black and white and old fashioned music also the stunts are very old fashioned.

From the pictures above you are able to see my camera setup and film location of the short film I was making, I had to make my room messy for the film but had to make sure I had enough space for the camera to go. I was able to record many different shots of the scenes such as close ups, medium shots and long shots. I had no problem with moving the camera in areas, unfortunately during 30 minutes of shooting the battery died so I had to stop shooting for a bit to go and get another battery from springboard, I also asked for a battery charger just in case it died again. I also had a small problem with putting the camera on the tripod but soon figured it out. Overall the shooting went really well and I got all the shots and scene's I needed for my film. I also had no problems shooting the scenes and shots by myself.
